In this episode, friends Liane and Teddy find a portal to Shapesville, where they turn into random shapes. On a sightseeing road trip, they discover a whole world underground before they have to suddenly return to the real world. Inspired by looking at Elizabeth Murray’s painting “Do the Dance” their adventures are brought to life by animators KLIMPA (Robert Löbel and Max Mörtl). Watch and get inspired too! Pause on the artwork at the end to tell or draw your own unique story. “Once Upon an Artwork” is the award-winning animated series that uses works of art in MoMA’s collection as a jumping off point for children to imagine, play, seek adventure, and create worlds. We record kids looking at works of art and then an animator brings their unique vision and storytelling to life.
